Michael J. Fagel, Ph.D, CEM
Dr. Fagel is a former county Emergency Manager and brings expertise from serving in the public sector through his employment & leadership with FEMA, IAEM, and local emergency management both in the US and internationally. Dr. Fagel participated in the UAE National Crisis Management Center Phase 1 study in 2005.  

He has served for nearly 30 years in all phases of public safety as a state law enforcement officer as well as a firefighter and an emergency medical services officer. He spent ten years at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) headquarters responding to disasters worldwide, including 9-11 in New York City . He also served as a Critical Incident Stress Debriefer (CISD) during the Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995.

Currently, Dr. Fagel is an instructor at the University of Chicago in their new masters of Threat Response Management Program. Also he is an instructor for Benedictine University 's Masters in Public Health Program., as well as an instructor at Eastern Kentucky University in their Safety Security Emergency Management Masters program.

He is a guest lecturer at NIU, as well as part of the Northwestern University MPAA summer instructional staff.   He was a team leader at the Louisiana State University 's National Center for Bio Medical Research and training (NCBRT) in their Response to Agricultural Terrorism Training Program, as well as their Public Health Programs in Response to High Consequence Events. >resume

Jim is an Applied Psychologist specializing in organizational and individual behavior in high-stress and/or volatile environments. Jim is a retired from the US military having served in the Air Force and in the US Joint Forces Command as a Senior Analyst for Department of Defense studies on Homeland Defense and Security and Civil-Military Operations at operational and strategic level.
